The 3rd event of the season saw a huge turnout due to it being held directly before US Nationals. Even a few international competitors came in to join the fun. The meet saw some great conditions for some very good scores. A little bit of nasty weather rolled in towards the end of the meet and only 5 of the 6 rounds were completed. Unfortunately, Jeannie Bartholomew had a bacterial infection in her leg which kept her out of the competition in hopes that she would be fit to compete at nationals. She was taken to the ER 3 separate times to get treatment hoping to get rid of the sever infection in the shortest time possible. The competition was quite intense and when the dust settled we saw FLCPA local, and the current Season Overall Points Leader, Curt Bartholomew emerge victorious taking the Gold overall with 485.144 points out of 5 hundred, 52 points ahead of 2nd Place. The Silver spot was taken by Cornelia Mihai with 432.9 points, and finally the Bronze was secured by Alter Ego’s Nick Batsch with 423.2 points. Nick competed amazingly through some bad injuries sustained 2 weeks prior at the DISL meet in Dubai. The Zone Accuracy podium ended with Curt in 1st, Alter Ego Project instructor Marcos Darman in 2nd, and Gage Galle in 3rd. The Speed Podium was topped off by Curt Bartholomew, 2nd was Gage Galle, and 3rd was Nick Batsch. Cornelia Mihai brought home the Gold performance in Distance, followed closely by Curt Bartholomew, and 3rd was Ryan Brownlow.
