Jeannie Sets Women’s National Speed Record

Jeannie Bartholomew set the US National Women’s Speed Record during the 2016 National Championships of Canopy Piloting.  The record previous belonged to Jessica Edgington, and Jeannie unknowingly broke the record until well after the competition.  The record was filed and confirmed by the USPA after the competition was over with a time of 2.411 seconds through the 70 meter carving course.  This record is also the Florida State Speed Record due to the fact that it was accomplished at Skydive City in Z-Hills.  Jeannie was very excited to accomplish this feat since she only had 2 training jumps before Nationals due to medical problems.  She was cleared to compete by doctors the day before the competition started.
